Yardzen is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of our platform. This role is ideal for a proven individual contributor who leads through strong technical execution, thoughtful architecture, and collaboration across teams. You’ll play a key role in designing and implementing high-impact features, shaping the technical foundation of our platform, and improving developer experience as we scale. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and fellow engineers to ensure we’re delivering the right solutions - at the right time - with high quality. Yardzen is building a modern, scalable platform and is looking for engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership, and care deeply about both the code and the end user.
About The Role:
- Deliver high-quality, well-tested code on schedule
- Provide technical leadership on large and complex projects, from requirements through implementation
- Partner with Product to understand problems, shape requirements, and design scalable solutionsIdentify, propose, and implement solutions to address and prevent technical debt
- Perform code reviews to ensure best practices, maintainability, and quality standards
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve our codebase, tooling, processes, and architecture
- Contribute to technical estimates and planning for larger features and initiatives
- Mentor and support other engineers through knowledge sharing, pairing, and feedback
About You:
- You love writing code and seeing your work make a real impactYou have a deep understanding of iterative software development
- You have a proven track record of delivering meaningful, successful features
- You care deeply about developer experience and building systems that are scalable, maintainable, and easy to work with
- You bring strong opinions, but hold them loosely—and aren’t afraid to share ideas around tech, product, and process
- You enjoy working cross-functionally to solve complex problems
- You have a strong sense of UX and empathy for end users, and know how to build polished, high-quality front ends from designs
- You’re comfortable working with some ambiguity and know how to ask the right questions to move forward
- You enjoy learning new technologies and continuously improving your craft
- You write effective tests, with a pragmatic approach to coverage and quality
Experience & Skills:
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years operating at a senior level
- Strong full-stack experience at startups across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- Familiarity with security and compliance best practices
- Experience designing and working with scalable systems and APIs
- Devops, Devex, and performance mindset
- Interest in and demonstrated experience using AI tools to accelerate and improve the delivery of quality software and infrastructure.
- Huge plus for professional experience delivering mobile apps using React Native and/or native iOS and/or Android platforms
