About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Finance to lead the financial management, planning, and strategy of Wag! Group Co. The role combines leadership, analytical prowess, and strategic thinking to support our growing enterprise. As a pivotal member of our leadership team, you will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure sound financial practices and effective business strategies. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, building and leading a top-tier finance team, and driving financial planning and analysis. This role requires a hands-on leader who can dive deep into the financials while also providing strategic guidance on company growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support company growth objectives and ensure long-term sustainability.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Oversee cash flow management, financing, capital structure, and risk management activities.
• Prepare and present detailed and insightful financial analysis and reports to the executive team and board.
• Partner with department heads to create financial plans and projections that support strategic initiatives.
• Lead and manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, tax, compliance, and audits.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Implement and maintain robust financial systems, tools, and reporting processes for accuracy and efficiency.
• Mentor and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and contribute to process enhancement initiatives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Financial accuracy and compliance: Timely and accurate reporting, audit results.
• Budget adherence: Variance analysis outcomes.
• Cash flow and financing: Effective management of working capital and financing arrangements.
• Operational efficiency: Process improvement implementations.
• Team development: Staff performance and team engagement metrics.

Qualifications:

• 7-8+ years of extensive experience in senior financial management roles, preferably within a tech or digital platform environment.
• Deep understanding of financial systems, business principles, and regulations.
• Proven experience in financial planning, strategy development, and operational execution.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strong track record of driving financial performance and managing cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

The final level of the role and compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
