Superside is looking for a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Project Delivery team. This team builds internal tools that streamline operations and elevate the customer experience.
This role blends technical leadership with moderate people management, making it ideal for a Staff Engineer ready to take on a first or second formal management role.
Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you’ll collaborate closely with Product and Design. Our tech stack is backend-heavy (Python or JVM preferred), with React on the frontend, and plenty of opportunity to explore AI in production where it supports business outcomes.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead a cross-functional team building internal tools to improve creative operations and service quality.
- Partner with Product and Design to prioritize initiatives and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Apply high technical standards through clear architecture, automation, and scalable systems.
- Stay hands-on, contributing to code, reviewing pull requests, and guiding key technical decisions.
- Mentor and grow engineers through regular feedback and personalized development plans.
- Foster cross-team collaboration and a remote-first culture of knowledge-sharing and high performance.
- Improve engineering processes through agile methods and continuous iteration.
- Support AI initiatives when aligned with operational and business needs.
What you'll need to suceed:
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong IC contributions and growing leadership responsibility.
- Previous experience mentoring or guiding engineers within a team setting.
- Proficiency in backend or full stack development (Python or JVM preferred); strong hands-on skills required.
- Experience building internal tools, systems, or automation to improve workflows.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional squads with Product and Design.
- Familiarity with agile practices and a mindset of continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferably, some experience in startups or scale-ups.
- Bonus: Experience running LLMs or AI tools in production environments.
