(Senior) IT Specialist
IT · Contractor
Taipei City, Taiwan
About The Role:
We are looking for a technically strong, service-minded (Senior) IT Specialist to join our Company IT & Automation team (IT Operations). You’ll bring hands-on expertise and sound judgment to solving problems, advising on technical decisions, and delivering practical improvements to our internal IT and security. This role focuses on delivering a defined set of IT projects over a 12-month term.
Your projects will span workplace technology, devices, accounts and access, SaaS administration, and security. Based in our Taipei office, you’ll work closely with Operations, Engineering, and vendors. This is internal IT, not production infrastructure or DevOps, but you'll be expected to write scripts and build automations yourself.
What You'll Do:
- Lead IT improvement projects from proposal to rollout, weighing security, reliability, cost, and maintainability.
- Strengthen security hygiene: MFA, least privilege, 1Password vault structure and secrets, access reviews, and credential rotation. Document the process and escalate incidents.
- Support the HRIS rollout from the IT side: build integrations (APIs, SCIM/SSO, webhooks) and onboarding/offboarding workflows through to go-live and handover.
- Build and maintain scripts and automations (provisioning, tool APIs), using AI coding tools where helpful. Test, secure, and document them.
- Improve office tech and the device lifecycle: networks, meeting-room AV, printers, and setup, refresh, and wipe processes, with an auditable onboarding/offboarding checklist. Coordinate vendors as needed.
- Document ownership and access for core tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, 1Password, shared mailboxes/calendars), review API keys and AI integrations with Engineering, and support vendor/spend reviews. Maintain SOPs and runbooks for handover.
Skills We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience leading IT, security, or automation projects from planning through implementation, delivering practical, lasting improvements.
- Strong troubleshooting across endpoints, networks, SaaS, and workplace audio and video systems; able to reproduce issues, test changes, document decisions, and confirm fixes.
- Able to read, write, and debug scripts (e.g. Python, JavaScript, shell) and call APIs; comfortable using AI coding tools to generate automations and verifying their output.
- Admin experience with identity/access & collaboration tools (e.g. Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, 1Password).
- Practical security experience across accounts, credentials, and sensitive data, including access reviews, incident response, and secure use of APIs and AI tools.
- Strong ownership and prioritization; delivers against project milestones and communicates trade-offs and risks clearly to non-technical colleagues and vendors.
Nice-To-Haves:
- 5+ years in internal IT / workplace tech / system administration (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Experience with device management tools (MDM) to simplify setup and improve device security.
- Experience building agents or API-connected workflows with AI coding tools such as Claude Code.
- Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, spoken and written, for coordinating with Taiwan-based vendors and providing bilingual internal support.
Notes:
- This is an office-first role in Taipei. We expect at least four days per week in the office, with occasional support for events outside normal hours when planned in advance.
- This is a fixed-term, 12-month position.
