Our team is building tools to optimize the creator-to-fan relationship, including native video, enhanced podcasting features, improved creation tools, and new community experiences. We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the most talented team in the Creator Economy and are looking for a Content Moderation Specialist to support our mission.

This role is based in Porto, Portugal and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the Role

  • Investigate users and content reported for violations of Patreon’s Community Guidelines.

  • When violations are found, enforce policy decisions related to content and correspond with users with empathy, timeliness, and quality.

  • Investigate and respond to inquiries from users in areas of responsibility owned by the Trust and Safety team.

  • Research and implement best practices to drive process efficiency and build trust with our users.

What you will have the chance to learn

  • Judgment and communication skills as you balance enforcing the rules with deep empathy for creators and world class customer service

  • Encyclopedic knowledge of trust and safety responsibilities for a platform that processes payments and hosts user generated content, including: minor safety, content policy enforcement, abusive users, and takedown notices

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience)

  • Written and oral proficiency in English

  • Able to balance empathy with skepticism while investigating potential violations

  • Passion for and interest in Patreon and our mission

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • Ability to identify policy gray areas and make recommendations

  • Prior experience working in Content Moderation preferred.
