What's the Role?
You will play a pivotal role in managing relationships with carrier underwriters and optimizing the quoting process for our sales team. Your expertise in underwriting will be instrumental in creating processes that create efficiencies for both our internal sales team and our carrier partners. You will collaborate closely with internal and external teams to ensure efficient communication, streamline processes, and deliver exceptional service to all parties. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape carrier relations at Glow and contribute to the success of our business.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with carrier underwriters to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Establishing efficient and effective processes for obtaining insurance quotes from carrier partners, ensuring timely responses and accuracy.
  • Working closely with carrier underwriters to negotiate and obtain the most competitive insurance quotes for our clients.
  • Training and supporting our internal sales team on best practices for working with carrier underwriters and obtaining quotes efficiently.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact between our sales team and carrier underwriters, addressing and resolving any issues or challenges that arise during the quoting process.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve carrier relations, streamline processes, and enhance the efficiency of obtaining quotes.
  • Staying informed about carrier product offerings, market trends, and industry developments to inform our processes on an ongoing basis.

You'll be a good fit if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience at an insurance carrier, ideally working with small businesses.
  • Have previous experience as an underwriter with a deep understanding of carrier underwriting processes and requirements.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify process improvements and optimize workflows.
  • Possess a proactive and result-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
  • Have strong familiarity with Workers' Compensation, Business Owner’s Policy and General Liability insurance.
