As the Director of Pricing & Packaging, you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of pricing, packaging and monetization across BetterUp. You will set the price structure for our platform, portfolio of products, services and discount levels. You will manage strategic packaging initiatives to innovate and create value for our customers and BetterUp. What you’ll do:
Deeply understand our customer segments, product offerings, ROI value-drivers, churn reasons and willingness to pay to inform strategic pricing decisions.
Research B2B SaaS industry peers and competitive pricing models selling to enterprise C-level buyers that inform how to position BetterUp.
Design pricing strategies that balance simplicity vs. flexibility for sellers and buyers.
Drive revenue growth, expansion and profitability across segments for new and existing customers.
Collaborate with executives and cross-functional teams to develop and execute your vision. You will partner closely with Sellers, Deal Desk, Finance, Billing, Revenue Operations, Partner Value, Product Marketing and Product.
Educate field sellers on evolving pricing changes with clear process definition, enablement, governance and tracking.
Lead continuous updates to pricing and packaging with performance audits using data, learnings and business trends to align with rapidly evolving customer and market needs
Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of pricing and packaging efforts
Establish pricing and packaging as a new function with a clear vision, goals, scope and process. Roadshow this vision across the company for alignment and ongoing iteration.
Additional activities include price setting, bundling strategy, discounting process, contract terms, new product launches and strategic initiatives to support renewal and expansion efforts
Comfortable with player coach role where you initially roll up your sleeves to lead financial scenario modeling and build a small team of analysts to support over time
If you have some or all of the following, please apply:
Minimum 6+ years of pricing & packaging experience in a B2B SaaS environment selling large deals to enterprise C-level buyers
Experience with a range of B2B SaaS pricing models (product tiers, subscription durations, license types, usage, volume discounts etc.) and motions (land and expand, net new, upsell expansion, renewals etc)
Track record of driving topline revenue and reducing churn by implementing monetization strategies in a hyper-growth company with a multi-product platform
Mastery of strategic pricing principles, B2B pricing variables and analytical price modeling to measure business impact tradeoffs.
Can synthesize qualitative and quantitative user research, market research and competitive benchmarking into a clear actionable ‘so-what’
Builds a clear vision/strategy and then executives in the details with large cross-functional operational teams to deliver on schedule with quality
Has strong analytical skills, positive growth mindset, comfortable pivoting quickly and is highly self-motivated
Clear executive-level communication that secures ongoing feedback and alignment through a collaborative iterative process.
Has managed a small team and is comfortable in a player coach IC/Manager hybrid role

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this role is $210,000– $362,000.
If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is:
$242,000 – $362,000: New York City
$210,000 – $314,000: Albany, Buffalo, Nassau, Newburgh, Rochester, Syracuse
